Simplweb - Instant Websites that work for your business

Built In Components

There are a number of great components built into the backend of every SimplWeb site:

Advanced Editor

An advanced editor comes installed with your Simplweb site, so it is on by default.

The editor is composed of two main parts: the toolbar and the content input space. At the bottom there are also three different view tabs, and the bottom right corner can be dragged to toggle the size of the editor. The screenshot below shows these parts.

Comments

On today’s web, your website can’t just be a static brochure, but should be a two-way conversation between you and your customers.

You have probably been to a blog type website where comments are allowed, but blogs are not just for personal diary sites any more. More and more, professional sites have blogs in their site where they can market themselves and their expertise to increase their sales and brand.

Our new comment system will allow you to gain valuable customer feedback and conversation, but with careful controls in place to control spam and moderate comments if you choose.

Email Newsletter Marketing

JContact is a component that integrates the world's best email marketing service, iContact, directly into your website. What does that mean? With this new feature, you can:

This integration puts at your fingertips the industry's most potent email marketing service. iContact allows you to easily create, send, and track email newsletters, RSS feeds, surveys, and autoresponders.

You'll pay for your iContact account separately from Simplweb, but together they are two of the best marketing investments your business or organization can make.

Flash Image Rotator

The Flash Image Rotator is one of the most popular tools around. It enables you to set a number of images to rotate, at a speed you specify, through a module position on your site. It is a fantastic way to display multiple images without having to use up a lot of space on your page.

The Image Rotator is an extension that gets published in module positions. It comes as part of your Simplweb site, and all you need to do is upload the images you want displayed, customise your Rotator, and publish it in a module position.

Gallery Tool

This plugin allows you to automagically display the contents of a whole image folder as smaller thumbnails in an article. No more adding images one at a time. Even cooler, when clicked on, the images popup in an eye-catching web 2.0 effect.

Just add for example {gallery}myphotos{/gallery} inside any article and all images existing in the folder "myphotos" will be presented as an image gallery, with stylish shadows on each thumbnail and "lightbox" popups to display the original images (when the user clicks on a thumbnail)! The thumbnails are generated on the fly which means that the original images are resized and resampled, too!

So, now,

  1. you don't need to have an additional gallery component to display a few images,
  2. you don't need to tell your visitors "to see our photos from Paris click here" and
  3. you focus more on content writing and less on managing the images!

More to come!
